Google Veo metadata explained

Veo is Google's video model, and like Google's image models it combines standard Content Credentials with SynthID watermarking.

What ends up in the file

Exports normally carry a C2PA manifest identifying the file as AI generated. On top of that, SynthID marks the video frames themselves, and Google has extended the same approach to the audio track. Both mechanisms are active at the same time and they behave completely differently under editing.

Removing it

Removing the manifest is a remux and takes a second, with no re-encoding and no quality loss. SynthID stays: it is designed to survive exactly the kind of processing that destroys metadata. Treat metadata removal here as a privacy step, not as anonymisation.
