Runway at a glance
Runway metadata explained
Runway is a production tool rather than a toy, and its files are usually one link in a longer editing chain, which is what makes their metadata interesting.
What ends up in the file
Exports may include a C2PA manifest and platform identifiers in the container, though what survives depends on whether the clip went through further editing afterwards. Because Runway is often used for commercial work, exported files can carry project or account references that you would rather not hand to a client or a competitor.
Removing it
A remux drops the manifest, the XMP block and any container level tags without recompressing the video, so the delivered file is identical in quality to your export. Worth adding to your delivery checklist.
Clean a Runway file
Remove every metadata block without re-encoding. Runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded.
