Removing Image Metadata...
Clean Image Ready
A new image has been exported without the original metadata. Visible watermarks and pixel-based AI traces are not removed.
Remove AI Tags
Cleans tags identifying tools like Midjourney & DALL-E.
Clean Slate
Exports an image without copying its original metadata.
Privacy Focus
Your image stays in your browser; it is not uploaded.
Masking AI Origin Data
Many AI generation tools embed watermarks or text markers in the metadata of images. This tool helps you scrub those markers for privacy or testing purposes.
The cleaned file does not retain the original EXIF, XMP, IPTC or text comments. This removes more than AI tags: camera details, capture dates, GPS, copyright and embedded content credentials are also discarded. Keep the original if you need these records. For location-only removal, use the Image GPS Metadata Remover instead.
How Does AI Metadata Masking Work?
The image is decoded and exported as a new JPG, PNG or WebP file. Original metadata, including AI tags, camera details, GPS and content credentials, is not copied. Dimensions and PNG/WebP transparency are retained. JPEG and WebP are re-encoded, so image quality and file size can change; PNG export is lossless for the decoded pixels. Color profiles are not retained, so color rendering can also change.
Privacy & Use Cases
Removing AI signatures can be useful for personal privacy (avoiding automated content profiling), portfolio cleanup (presenting work without AI flags), or development testing (simulating non-AI content flows). Many users want clean metadata for archival purposes or to prevent third-party platforms from automatically tagging their content as AI-generated.
Important: Use Responsibly
While metadata masking is legal for your own files, transparency matters. Do not use this tool to deceive clients, news organizations, or contest judges about image origins. Many platforms require disclosure of AI-generated content—removing metadata doesn't exempt you from these obligations. Always follow applicable terms of service and ethical guidelines.
