Measure PDF drawings online, free and private

Architectural plans, site drawings and technical sheets are shared as PDF, but reading a length off them usually means printing or opening heavy CAD software. This PDF measurement tool lets you set a scale and measure lengths, areas, wall surfaces and volumes straight in the browser - your drawing is never uploaded anywhere.

Nothing leaves your device

The PDF is opened locally, rendered locally and measured locally. There is no server-side processing, so confidential drawings stay confidential. Your measurements are stored in your own browser and can be exported as a JSON file you keep yourself.

Scale you can trust

The tool reads the page text looking for a ratio such as 1:100 and combines it with the real paper size of the page. Prefer to check it yourself? Calibrate on a printed dimension line, or type the ratio in plain terms: 1 cm on the page equals 1 m in reality.

How to measure a PDF

  1. Open your PDF drawing - it stays on your own device.
  2. Check the scale at the top. Adjust it, or calibrate on a dimension you know.
  3. Pick a tool and click your points. Hold Shift to lock to straight and 45 degree lines.
  4. Add a height for wall surfaces or volumes, then export your results as CSV, JSON or a marked-up PDF.
